The Book Thief.

Okay so…

I have decided that only special people can read The Book Thief and love it the way that I did.

I know there are people out there! (Because every time I click on the Book Thief tag I follow on Tumblr…I almost start crying because that book is so wonderful and other people love it too and post about their love for it on Tumblr) BUT. Nearly everyone I’ve recommended it to has either not read it (which…they don’t even know what they are missing) OR they QUIT READING IT because they didn’t like it. WHAT. How can you not like it. It’s such a hauntingly beautiful, phenomenal, lovely story. How can you stop reading that. I just don’t understand.

SO. If you love it. Tell me. We can talk about it. And its loveliness.

Home again, home again, jiggity-jig.

Well, the fam is back from Branson, and my dog is back from the vet. He got his hair cut, and he smells like a mixture of baby powder and an old woman’s perfume. The smell is kind of taking over my room right now. I can always tell when he comes in, because a new wave of the scent hits me. Oh, Casey, you precious pooch!

In other news, Keira Knightley is engaged! Yay for her. =) I really admire her. I also think it’s curious that the first article I found reporting the engagement is mostly made up of people’s responses via Twitter. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/gossip/la-et-mg-keira-knightley-engaged-james-righton-20120525,0,3505069.story Really? I don’t really know what to say about that. I feel like it’s a funny generation-thing. Twitter. Ha.

Tomorrow is Saturday! Huzzah. I am going to try to run again. (My previous motivation died after two days. Oops.) Yay summer!

"You, and me, walk on, because you can’t go back now."

- The Weepies

"I’ve got nostalgic pavements, I’ve got familiar faces, and I’ve got mixed up memories and I’ve got favorite places."

- Kate Nash, Mouthwash

"I wanna be like You in every way. So if I gotta die every day, unworthy sacrifice, but the least I can do is give the most of me. Cause bein’ just like You is what I’m supposed to be. They say You came for the lame, I’m the lamest. I made a mess, but You say You’ll erase it. I’ll take it. They say You came for the lame, I’m the lamest. I broke my life, but You say You’ll replace it. I’ll take it."

- Lecrae, Just Like You

torn.

Oh, my heart! How can I be so happy and so sad at the same time?

"God wants you to move through this day with a quiet heart, an inward assurance that He is in control, a peaceful certainty that your life is in His hands, a deep trust in His plan and purposes, an abiding hope in His promises, and a thankful disposition toward all that He allows."

I love this quote.

Today I rode my bike to the library! I got six books:

Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
Marcelo in the Real World by Francisco X. Stork
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly
The Saturdays by Elizabeth Enright
The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall

Yay! We’re going to Branson soon, so I’m excited to spend the ride there reading and reading!

Also, I voted today! Yippee! But I didn’t get an “I VOTED” sticker. Boo. I really wanted one.

Summer 2012.

It is upon us. Woahza.

I decided that this summer my motto will be YOLO: You Only Live Once.

I kicked that off this morning by going for a run. Hopefully that will become a regularity! I made a list of things I want to do this summer, too. Those include…

-do something active every day (hence, the running this morning)
-organize all of my college crap (decided what I need to keep and what I can get rid of)
-read a lot of books (YAY!)
-read my Bible every day
-and just plain be responsible and not lazy.

I have a lot of motivation right now. Let’s hope it stays that way.

(Also, why do I want to hashtag EVERYTHING I SAY?! I’ve fallen into the trap. Lamesauce.)

"All this beauty, you might have to close your eyes,
And slowly open wide, and watch the sunrise."

The Weepies.

I have listened to an obscene amount of The Weepies this week. And I am totally okay with that. =)
